Last Autumn, Romania lost about 80% of its crops due to drought. One memory from the past year was the encouraging level of response, both in terms of cash and kind, when the failed harvest was made known.

Fani is one of the last of the Jewish remnant in Dorohoi. Shortly after New Year she fell and rolled under her bed, tipping the radiator against the door. She was found after several days, but is still shocked by the experience.
